Me Behind My words

I am a writer at heart, a spinner of words. I enjoy the magic of weaving them into narrative that feels extremely real. Words are my tools at work and I use them to spin life into my characters. My journey with words has been deeply fulfilling, though I have much more to write, realms floating in my mind to spill out. I am thankful that my writing style—vivid and evocative—has been warmly received by readers, critics, and the media alike. My book Flame, released at the Jaipur Literature Festival and published by Hachette, became a bestseller and was translated into five Indian languages. Taking a leap into the literary world, my next work was equally well received. As Ashwin Sanghi once remarked,

Eyes of the Healer could almost be considered Khayyam Esque.

Eyes of the Healer went on to take a beautiful new form when it was adapted into a musical dance drama by Muzaffar Ali as ‘Ananda: Eyes of the Healer,’ with Kabir Bedi as the narrator. I was fortunate to be represented by Kanishka Gupta, the celebrated literary agent known for nurturing authors who have gone on to win the Booker Prize multiple times. Rupa Publications has since signed me on for a five-book contract, the first of which is “Tara – The Dream Chaser.” I truly believe that my best is yet to come.

Beyond writing, I am a graduate of Lady Shri Ram College and currently serve as the President of the Shahnaz Husain Group of Companies, where I play a key role in its growth. While I oversee the national distribution network, my true passion lies in research and development. I find immense joy in reviving ancient Ayurvedic formulations and presenting them to the world. One such creation is the iconic 24 Carat Gold range, now the company’s highest-selling product.

I firmly believe that creativity is an integral part of business. Anticipating the future needs of consumers is essential. My dream for the company is simple yet ambitious: when tomorrow comes, we should already be there.
